The Celo Foundation has announced a partnership with Rarible to launch a new NFT marketplace named Celosphere.
Powered by RaribleX and will operate on the mobile-first Ethereum L2 blockchain network, this platform will focus on art.
Celosphere is designed to provide a platform for creators worldwide to showcase their digital creations and connect with global communities.
Empowering Creators with Celo Creators Fund
This partnership builds upon Rarible’s earlier integration of the Rarible API on Celo, facilitating developers in enhancing decentralized applications leveraging NFT technology on the Celo network.
Celosphere aims to create a dynamic marketplace where creators can seamlessly trade, sell, and acquire digital collectibles. Notably, the Celo Foundation has implemented carbon-negative design and Ultragreen Money tokenomics within Celosphere, allocating a portion of gas charges to offset carbon emissions from transactions.
The Celo Foundation has introduced the Celo Creators Fund, designed to incentivize individuals, creators, and artists to develop NFT collections. Community partners such as Rug Radio, HUG, Boys Club, and Refraction will receive 1,000 USDC fast-track grants to bolster their respective communities with additional funding to support custom-tailored artists’ aftercare programs for greater education and awareness.
This recent collaboration between the Celo Foundation and Rarible aims to empower creators within the NFT ecosystem through Celosphere and the Celo Creators Fund.
